We would like to thank our thousands of friend-patrons who helped us make Mally's a special place to be. After nearly 3 years operating the restaurant, we sold it to pursue other interests.
The good news is, that Pick Me Up Cafe and BBQ is open, and we think you will love what they have to offer. GIVE THEM A TRY!
Long before there was sushi, or even automobiles in Livermore, Mally’s was here. We have a rich history in Livermore, going back over 100 years to the original Mally Hotel. It was located on the south side of First Street. There are some nice pictures of this era on the infamous eLivermore site. The restaurant has moved twice from its original location.
First, it moved to the north side of the street after the Mally hotel was demolished. In the beginning it was still mostly a “grill”, with many years to pass before sushi was added. Japanese food and sushi finally came to the menu around 1992, at the same time “New” was added to the famous Mally’s name to emphasize the refreshing changes that were taking place.
Nearby, Stovepipe Deli had been the other “secret” sushi treasure in Livermore during this time period, known mostly to locals and a few Dublin and Pleasanton sushi lovers. In 2004 when Stove Pipe was offered for sale, it was purchased to become the “newer” Mally’s home, here at 385 South Livermore Avenue.
In January 2008, (New) Mally's closed so that the owners could pursue other interests.
